  1. 11B enrichment by boron-specific resins Chen yongpan 2007/07/21

  2. Main Content • 1. The principle of 11B enrichment by boron-specific resins • 2. Important parameters: S vs HETP • 3. Modified resin:Merrifield resin

  3. The principle The isotope exchange reaction is as follows: 10B(OH)3+11B(OH)4–⇔11B(OH)3 +10B(OH)4– KB=[11B(OH)3][10B(OH)4−]/[10B(OH)3][11B(OH)4−].

  4. Boron-specific resin

  5. The reaction mechanism

  6. Calculation of the S value S=[10B/11B]resin/[10B/11B]solution

  7. where R was the 10B isotopic molar fraction in the feed solution , rithat in the i th fraction of the effluent, mithe amount of the boron in the i th fraction, Q the total exchange capacity of the resin bed.

  8. Calculation of the H value

  9. Modified resin:Merrifield resin • The traditional resin used for Merrifield synthesis was a chloromethylphenyl substituted resin. The first amino acid was attached to the resin through substitution of the chloride by the caesium salt of the Boc-amino acid, generating an equivalent to a benzyl ester.

  10. Merrifield resin modification: (1) glycosylation (2)add amino acid group to the resin Study the separation effect of the modified Merrifield resin.
