Strategic Goal Area 3: Facilities and Infrastructure Johnson Controls Energy Conservation Projects • Building Weatherization • Electrical Upgrades • Water Conservation • Mechanical Systems Upgrades
Strategic Goal Area 3: Facilities and Infrastructure Campus High School “A” Building Remodel • Building was redesigned and constructed into seven much needed classrooms • Two new computer labs were added at CHS in “A” building • Also, all computer labs in “E” building at CHS were updated
Strategic Goal Area 3: Facilities and Infrastructure District Copy Center Constructed • Our new school district Copy Center was constructed by remodeling a storage area of the Learning Center • All copiers district-wide have been Networked
Strategic Goal Area 3: Facilities and Infrastructure SAFETY, SECURITY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS ENHANCEMENTS Based on the Kansas Homeland Security observations, additional equipment, planning and training initiatives were instituted, including: *Additional school security cameras *Increase in exterior lighting *New security related signage *More exterior electronic door locks *Upgrade of school bus and portable radios *A review of local hazard analysis *FEMA National Training Academy course on school emergency management
Goal Statement Strengthening Community Pride Through Strategic Partnerships
Volunteers & Donations • HOPE Grant and Latchkey Program – Collaboration with Haysville Recreation Center • THE Club – Campus High School students partnering with the Haysville Health Care Center and Haysville Senior Citizen Center • CHS Nutrition & Wellness students provided casseroles to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice • Elementary Schools – Partnership with Haysville Community Library on Summer Accelerated Reader Program
Partnerships • District Schools made donations to the Haysville Food Bank • Local businesses and individuals have shown support for Homeless Program with donations of clothing, school supplies, and household goods • Haysville High School held fundraiser to make donation to the Gift for Gunner Foundation • Keever- Wire VFW Post 6957 has made monetary donations to school and honored students and teachers for academic and teaching excellence
District Facility Use • USD 261’s Learning Center has generated $14,000 from rental of the facility by external users. • 283 non-district participants attended workshops
Partnerships with City • Haysville High School student community services valued at $20,000 by the City of Haysville • Partnerships that provide School Resources Officers and DARE Program • Staff members active in Haysville organizations – Haysville Forward, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizen Advisory Board, Haysville Community Library Board, Haysville Historic District Committee, Fall Festival
Area Partnerships • Newman University’s Math Grant • Kohl’s $1,500 donation to Nelson Elementary School • $1,200 to students who take safe driving pledge • Intrust Bank Breakfast for staff • Grace Medical Health Screenings for students • Volunteers from area attending CHS Career Day • Businesses that attend PAT’s Big Truck Night
