  4. SAFETY STUDY PRESENTATION • Regional Priority • The Congestion Management Process Study published by AMATS in July 2012 lists Congestion Reduction Strategies for various intersections. Listed below is the strategy for the study corridor: • I-76 / Tallmadge Road / Mogadore Road Interchange – Reconfigure Interchange. • This is the highest crash corridor in Portage County (80 Crashes). Next Closest area is the State Route 59 corridor near the State Route 261 intersection (68 crashes).

  5. SAFETY STUDY PRESENTATION • Crash Analysis Summary • 80 Crashes Reported in Study Area from 2010 – 2012 • 43 Rear-end • 10 Angle • 8 Left Turn • 7 Sideswipe - Passing • 5 Fixed Object • 4 Other Non-Collision • 3 Sideswipe – Meeting *Note the High Number of Rear-End Crashes

  6. SAFETY STUDY PRESENTATION • Crash Analysis • Much Higher than Average Rear-End Crashes • Inefficient Cluster Signal Operation at I-76 WB Exit Ramp / Mogadore Road / Tallmadge Road Intersection • Non-Traditional Interchange Geometrics at I-76 / Tallmadge Road Interchange • Conclusion – Congestion Related Crashes Resulting from Inefficient Operations in Study Area
