Victory Baptist Church Presentation of the Future Master Plan April 26, 2009
VICTORYFOR THE FUTURE! “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18 On March 9, 2008, we voted to hire a church planning firm to assist us in establishing a vision for the future of Victory Baptist Church.
What Did We Get for $25,000 ? • Feasibility Analysis of different locations. • Financial feasibility study of the church. • Demographics study of the community. • A drawing of the Master Site Plan at the chosen location. • Recommended Construction Phases. • A Schematic Design of Phase II construction. • A preliminary cost estimate of Phase II. • Vision Casting Material.
MOVING FORWARD… • A project team was established. • Regular meetings were held with the VBC project team and COSCO. • Deacons were also kept up to date and provided input throughout the process. • The first question in everyone’s mind was…
Where should Victory Baptist Church be located in the future?West Campus?Gym property?Present location?
A UNANIMOUS decisionwas reached that future facilities of Victory Baptist Church should be located on ourWEST CAMPUS PROPERTY!
WHY ??? COSCO’S EVALUATION • Inadequate land resources at present location. • Re-construction of the existing facilities would be too costly due to code requirements. • Facilities would be separated by Main St. at present location. • Existing West Campus building can be easily modified to accommodate future needs. • Greater visibility and double the traffic count.
MOVING FORWARD… • A boundary survey and topography map was constructed for the West Campus property to plan future construction with minimal site preparation. • All facilities were placed in the Master Plan of the future campus with this in mind.
MOVING FORWARD… As a result of the financial feasibility study and current economic conditions, the project team, deacons and pastor recommended that Phase I of our future planning be: • To upgrade the exterior of existing church. • To eliminated existing debt (3 – 5 years).
Phases of Construction WHAT SHOULD BE NEXT? There are many variables to consider !
Day Care is growing and in need of space. • The High School needs updating. • The church bears ultimate financial responsibility. Should it be first? • Future phases will ultimately be chosen as God leads and necessity dictates. The church will vote on future phases and when they will begin.
For Planning Purposes… • After much prayer and consideration, the project team chose to plan Phase II as… A NEW SANCTUARY LOCATED AT WEST CAMPUS
The New Sanctuary • 13,488 square feet. • 572 seats at 18 inches with 75 choir seats • 488 seats at 22 inches with 75 choir seats • In today’s dollars: 2.6 Million • Mirror image design for future expansion and Sunday School rooms. • Drop-off area is included.
The Master Plan is… Where COSCO has recommended a layout of future buildings on the West Campus property.
The Master Plan Includes… • The Fully Expanded Sanctuary • A High-School Wing • A Day Care Wing • Expanded Multi-Purpose Room • A Family Life Facility with Gymnasium • Expanded Parking • Athletic Field for Playgrounds and Physical Education
