Guiana (sthamerica) & birimian (west africa) greenstone belts
Ianna Gold Project lies within the Guiana Shield, a palaeo-Proterozoic granite-greenstone terrane (2.2by) forming the northern part of the Amazon craton. • Guyana’s primary gold deposits are commonly found near: • the margins of granitoids stocks that intruded the greenstone belts. • Fault/shear zones within the greenstone belts are also potential areas of gold deposits.
