  4. Ties • FARC has ties to countries such as Nicaragua, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Libya • It's associated with terrorist such as • Provisional Irish Republican Army • The national Libertarian farabundo Marti front (FLMN)

  5. Recruitment • Traditionally consisted of poor campesinos • Targets the poor, children, and college students • Raise children to believe in their doctrine • Go to hundreds of universities to recruit college students

  6. Conclusion • Overall they have a strong support structure • Work with outside organizations in order to enhance their operations • Recruit the young • What can damage and has damaged their support increase if counterterrorism in the nation of Columbia
