  6. Resources about the Process • Review the C-ID Norming and Training Resource for Course Outline of Record (CoR) Primary Reviewers and Regular Faculty Reviewers document. This document will be attached to the email confirming this training. • Become familiar with your discipline’s approved descriptors. These are the documents you will be comparing submitted CoRs against. It’s recommended you download these descriptors to your desktop or print a set for your convenience during the review process. Descriptors are available at http://www.c-id.net/descriptors.html

  7. Responsibilities • FDRG versus CORE • Primary Responsibilities • Assign courses, manage assignments, monitor timelines, compile summaries, as well as be the tie breaker • Reviewer Responsibilities • Provide clear and adequate feedback • Meet timelines • Notify the lead if you cannot accomplish timelines

  8. Assignment of Courses • One CCC and one CSU will be assigned to each course based on individual faculty expertise. • Reviewers to provide the Primary Reviewer with which courses they have the expertise to review • Primary Reviewer will make assignments based on your expertise.

  9. Technology • User ID and Password • If you already signed up, please let us know so we can change your status to reviewer • If you haven’t already signed up, please email us, and we’ll sign you up. • Any internet browser will work • Access the system from http://www.c-id.net/

  10. Receiving Course Assignments • When a course is assigned to you, an automatic email from the C-ID website will be sent to you. • Once you receive a message, you can log into the C-ID website to see your course assignments and begin reviewing courses. • Please note that the automatic email process is still under development so reviewers are encouraged to check back at least every week. • Ideally, CoRs should be reviewed within three weeks. The date is listed on your course assignment list (covered later) and you will receive an email reminder.

  14. Reviewing the Course Assignment Page • The “course outlines you’ve been assigned to review” page provides vital information: • The due date of when your reviews must be completed. • The status of your assigned courses: • Assigned – you still need to do your individual review. • Completed – you completed your individual review. • Approved – the FDRG is done with the review for the course and it was awarded with the requested C-ID designation. • Not Approved – the FDRG is done with the review and the course was not awarded with the requested C-ID designation. • Conditionally Approved – the FDRG is temporarily done with the review; the course must be resubmitted with requested modifications in order to be awarded with the requested C-ID designation. • Resubmit IP – the submitter has addressed concerns raised by the FDRG and resubmitted the course for final review.

  15. Begin a Course Review (Reviewer Screen) Once you sign in, you will receive the following screen:

  20. Problems with downloading CoR • If you encounter a problem with accessing the CoR, what do you do: • Email us and let us know so we can correct the problem. • Once we access the CoR, we’ll notify you with the link or tell you to access the record again.

  21. Course Evaluation Form You will change the drop down menu to yes or no for each text box. If you select no, you must add in a comment for each text box.

  22. Course Evaluation Form • Once you make all your comments, you will need to select an overall recommendation. Your choices are: • Approved, Conditionally Approved, or Not Approved. Please see the C-ID Norming and Training Document for descriptions of each of these (p. 7 - 8). • If you select Conditionally Approved or Not Approved, you must include a final comment.

  23. Course Evaluation Form Overall recommendation. Final Comment. You can then save your input and come back later or check the box and submit.

  24. Course Evaluation Form • After making an overall recommendation and making a final comment when necessary, you can either save the record and return or submit the review. (See next slide for example) • If you are a reviewer, your submission will go to the Primary Reviewer. • Once the primary reviewer is finished, the course will either go public or back to the AO.

  25. Examples for Evaluation Form • Review the Norming and Training Resource Document on pages 6 – 8 for more information on comparing the CoRs against the descriptors and samples of constructive comments.

  26. Conditionally or Not Approved • If a course has been conditionally or not approved, it will be sent back to the submitter. • The submitter then has to correct any problems you identified and resubmit. • Once resubmitted, you will see on your list “Resubmitted IP” • You would then only be able to review the areas that needed correction and verify that the areas of concerns have been addressed. • You would follow the same process as you initially did in the first review.
