An increasing number of young people dropping out of education, getting disengaged or completing school with poor results… On the other hand: the region needs still fewer low-educated workers and still more well-educated, self-directed and creative lifelong learners…

On the contrary. All European regions will be under great pressure from the new and from emerging economies.

Technology must serve as a powerful resource for re-engaging our young generations. We cannot effort to lose a still growing percentage of our young people.

Basic schooling will not be sufficient to enable them to contribute to a creative labor market. And, by the way, they are not interested in basic schooling!

Old classrooms with a little ICT. We need new media and laboratory based didactics, innovating the basic ways in which we think and organize learning for our new generations.
