Wrap-up (I/II) • Today’s Objectives • Identify the critical instruments for beam operation • Present current understanding of BI beamlineequipment & spares inventory Very useful information provided by all • Next Steps – short term • Finalise the inventory of BI beamline components in the injectors • Look in detail with OP into the criticality of all components • This has already started with your classification today – Thank-you • Use risk analysis to prioritise equipment for further scrutiny • Ensure that manufacturing & assembly drawings exist • Identify any missing spare components • Produce a planning for spares production • Using results of risk analysis to prioritise • Conforming to budgetary & manpower constraints • EDMS approval BOSS Meeting - 27/5/2014
Wrap-up (II/II) • Next Steps – longer term • Ensure the BI inventory is fully integrated in the CERN computerised maintenance management system • Beamline equipment • Spare components and assemblies • Put in place tools & procedures to keep BI asset management up to date • Extend to other machines • LEIR, AD, ISOLDE • To be addressed • OP to log use of equipment during re-start to confirm importance • Proposal for end of run “BI check-out” for rarely used instruments • Would highlight any issues early & ensure better availability for next start-up • Tighter vacuum specifications • Recent examples of “old” spares not conforming to new standards • E.g. SPS-BPCR & PS-SEM52) • Post LS1 follow-up with VSC foreseen to address this point A Big Thank-You to all Speakers for their Participation BOSS Meeting - 27/5/2014
