TÜBİTAK • Since its establishment (1963), TÜBİTAK has been providing support for scientific and technological research with the aim of assisting national development. • It generates science and technology and disseminates information of benefit to the public while offering assistance to Turkish scientists in order to enhance Turkey’s reputation in the fields of science and technology. • It guides Turkey’s Science and Technology Policies.

  3. BAYG • BAYG (The Department of Scientific Human Resources Development ) is a branch of TÜBİTAK • Its mission involves providing many kinds of support, such as generating circumstances to improve and develop the capacities of scientists and researchers, rewarding outstanding success, monitoring the progress of successful students and providing assistance for their development and granting national and international scholarships. • Organizing contests to discover and train future scientists (for primary and secondary school students)

  4. BAYG BAYG, The Department of Scientific Human Resources Development; supports activities in the following areas: natural science, medical sciences, engineering and technological sciences, agricultural and veterinary sciences and social sciences.

  5. BAYG • BAYG supports competitions and many scholarship programs for • Primary and secondary school students • Undergraduate students • Graduate students • Postdoctoral researchers

Programs for Primary and Secondary School Students • BAYG organizes events and programs to orient young people towards science and to train them, starting from primary school level. • National Primary Mathematics Olympiads: • a competition among primary school 6th ,7th and 8th grade students. The best students are awarded medals (gold, silver and bronze) by TÜBİTAK .

Primary and Secondary School Students b) National Science Olympiads: a competition among secondary schools students from all over the country in the fields of mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry and informatics.The best students receive medals and support for university studies c) National Secondary School Research Projects Contest : a competition among secondary school students from all over the country in the fields of mathematics,physics, biology, chemistry, informatics and earth science.

Undergraduate Scholarships Undergraduate scholarships: we have four types of university undergraduate scholarships: undergraduate basic science scholarships (students among the first 5000 in the General University Entrance Examination), and for students receiving medals from the National Science Olympiads, the International Science Olympiads and the for National Secondary School Research Projects Contest.

  14. National Scholarship Program for Master Students • Turkish citizens • GPA at least 3.20/4.00 or 80/100 • Graduate Education Entrance Examination (LES) at least 60 • Lasts two years • Requires continued success

  16. National Scholarship Program for PhD Students • Turkish citizens • Undergraduate GPA at least 3.00/4.00 or 75/100 • Master’s GPA at least 3.20/4.00 or 80/100 • Graduate Education Entrance Examination (LES) at least 60 • Lasts four years • Requires continued success

INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM • For PhD students at Turkish universities or researchers at Turkish institutions • Must have an invitation • Must have good knowledge of the language • Lasts at most 9 months • Must be for the solution of a problem that cannot be solved with available facilities
