  5. 1. Jesus Is Lord Because He Does His Mission 1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives… He will finish his work in you!

Jesus Is Lord BecauseHe Leads His People 1b Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no-one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’” He will lead you in the good path – His name depends on it.

  7. 3. Jesus Is Lord BecauseHe Predicts Accurately 4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. What He has foretold about our future will come to pass!

  8. 4. Jesus Is Lord BecauseHe Is Holy 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. He is serious about sin – even if we are not!

  9. King George III asked his American painter, Benjamin West, what Washington would do after winning independence. West replied, “They say he will return to his farm.” “If he does that,” the incredulous monarch said, “he will be the greatest man in the world.”

Jesus Is Lord Because ofHis Self-Restraint 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” 10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest!”

Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David (equivalent to “Let’s bring back the Good Old Days!”) 4. “Hosanna in the highest” He is patient and won’t be pushed to do anything that injures us!

Jesus Is Lord BecauseHe Is The JudgeBut Compassionate Luke 19:41,42 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. He will be just us but He has a big heart, too!

  13. 7. Jesus Is Lord Because ofHis Faithfulness To Priorities 11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve. He keeps our whole life in view when dealing with us!

  14. Challenge Is Jesus your Lord? Jesus is our Lord because He doesexactlywhat He says He will do.
