Differences from Middle to High School • Larger Campus • No Lockers (except for PE) • Late work rarely accepted for full credit • Shift to student responsibility/self-advocacy with parent support • Take on leadership roles
Attendance Use of a planner to write down homework and due dates each day. Organization- Be prepared for class—take notes! Stick to a homework routine—do homework at the same time each night in a place with minimal distractions. 1 ½ hours of nightly homework is typical. Make use of conference periods. (Wednesday and Thursday mornings 8:15-8:54 am) *Attendance is taken by all teachers when student is present Study in groups FREEafter school assistance (Tues-Thurs: 4:00 -5:30) Avoid Cramming Student’s Responsibilities
