STEM Community Engagement Pilot • Increase and enhance public media engagement around Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning • Increase and enhance youth engagement in FIRST and other STEM-focused activities • Improve and advance learning in STEM subjects • Build capacity to create sustainable, ongoing engagement in STEM learning
STEM Community Engagement Pilot • Connects stations, national producers, educators and organizations, other partners and stakeholders • Connects with FIRST and its broad network of students, scientists, business leaders and mentors • Innovative strategies that deepen public media’s significance • Station-wide commitment and leadership • Capture lessons learned • Assess and communicate impact
STEM Community Engagement Pilot This is about building station capacity—if we want to have impact on student learning and in the community—we have to build capacity to take on meaningful, impactful, ongoing, sustainable initiatives. It’s about creating and communicating impact through the development of networks.
