  1. Welcome to:Effingham County High SchoolNational College Decision Day 2014 Celebration!

  2. National College Decision Day 2014 Today is the date that many colleges in the US require that seniors who have been admitted either accept or reject their offer of admission. Here at ECHS, it is our day to celebrate your accomplishments and to launch you on a path to obtain a college degree and life-long success.

  3. Points to remember now that you have been accepted to college! • 1. Make sure to re-read all the materials that came from your college to make sure you turn in every required form. • 2) Sign up for orientation at your chosen college. • 3. If you feel that you will be earning the HOPE Scholarship or if you want to receive the HOPE Grant to attend technical college, make sure you have either • A) Filed FAFSA .Be sure to file FAFSA if you hope to get federal money for college, like the PELL Grant or Work-study. • or • B) Filed the HOPE application found on the GACOllege411 website. (We have info here today if you lost yours!)

  4. 4. Your college will want a final transcript but we cannot submit that until AFTER you have graduated. We will be having you fill out that information during graduation practice. • 5.If you have been awarded a scholarship, make sure you fill out the “Scholarships I Will Be Accepting” available today or in the counselor’s office. Turn it in by May 14th . • Once all of this has been finished, you can breathe a sigh of relief – it’s time to celebrate!
