School-Wide Positive Behavior Support HAPPY! Makes us… HAPPY! HAPPY! at Warren County High School
Hey Jack… Forget the Past. It’s a NEW day at WCHS
How attentive are you to Positive Behaviors at your School ?
School-Wide Positive Behavior Support SWPBSis associated with: • Increased academic gains - when combined with effective instruction • Reductions in Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs) • Increased perception that the school is safe • More positive school climate
Where did we start? 2010-2011
Discipline 2010 – 2011 Office Referrals: 8,220 Total Averages 2,055 per grade level 11 per day per grade
What about lost instructional time? Patrick Fraley from Cherokee High School estimates that for each office referral: 45 minutes instructional time is lost 15 minutes of administrative time is lost
For our school that is: Over 8 hours of instructional time Almost 3 hours of administrative time EVERY day!!! We Have a Problem!
