A Worthy WalkLiving By Faith KIF Fall 2012 Sermon Series - Ephesians
Eph 6:10-13 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God
Our Environment For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Phil 2:15,16 So that you may become children of God ___________ in a warped and crooked generation. Phil 2:15 So that you may become children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation … TO BE IN THE WORLD AND NOT OF THE WORLD
The environment in which we are filled with the Spirit • Submission: The means of interacting with our environment • Placing the needs of others before your own • In the world • Example of Jesus
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin
By age 12, Jesus’ mind had developed to the point where it contained the mind of God 2 Corinthians 10:5we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ
The environment in which we are filled with the Spirit • Submission: The means of interacting with our environment • Placing the needs of others before your own • In the world • Example of Jesus • The Purpose for interacting with our environment • Jesus: To die on the cross • Salvation of those around us
On the cross God treated Jesus as if He lived my life. That's substitution. He treats me as if I lived Jesus' life. He never sinned. He therefore became perfect through that and His perfection qualifies Him to be the author of eternal salvation because it is that perfect life that is credited to your account. If you didn't have a perfect life credited to your account, you couldn't have eternal salvation. So He had to take your place on the cross and die as if He lived your life, and then He had to live a perfect life that could be credited to your account. And when it says you have a righteousness, Philippians 3, not your own but the righteousness of God, it means that the literal, perfect, righteous life of Jesus Christ has been put to your account and God treats you as if you lived His life.

The environment in which we are filled with the Spirit • Submission: The means of interacting with our environment • Placing the needs of others before your own • In the world • Example of Jesus • The Purpose for interacting with our environment • Jesus: To die on the cross • Salvation of those around us
Our battle is not primarily with the physical but rather the spiritual because we are people of faith. • The battle is not physical but rather temptations of the mind • You are how you think. • We have a “high priest” “father” that understands our struggle • Our struggle is for the salvation of others
