History and Nature of Partnership • ARCC has developed expertise to serve Medical Device Company using business partnerships • Grant funded partnership (second between college and company) • Significant investment by Boston Scientific • Partnership designed to serve specific needs of Boston Scientific and expand college capacity

  3. Partnership Goals Develop curriculum, training, and tools to support Boston Scientific’s transition to automated manufacturing. Incorporate curriculum into a new Engineering Technology for Medical Device Manufacturing degree and/or certificate program.

Description of curriculum to be developed and anticipated audience: Introduction to Automated/ Impact on Design and Production Engineers Technicians Use of Automated Equipment Understanding Machine Capabilities and Limits Machine vision Component variation Line interdependence Problem Solving, Trouble Shooting and Mistake Proofing Understanding Angle, Lighting, Focal Length Engineers Select Technicians

Description of curriculum to be developed and anticipated audience: • Maintenance of Automated Equipment • Transitioning from Physical Repair to Use of Diagnostics and Sensors • Preventing Failures • Working on a “Live” Line • Maintenance • Technicians • Engineers • Product Design for Automated Equipment • Engineers • Process Development Technicians • Select Technicians • Hands-on Training for Operators, Maintenance, and Product Development Teams
