What is a Light Rail Train? • A Light rail train uses electricity to move . • It is used in city areas for getting around. • A light rail train is lighter than a freight train and can carry more passengers.
How Does the Train Move? • The Train moves off lines above the train which gives off electricity. • The Train basically moves by the line guiding it and also the tracks.
How Much Does a Light Rail cost? • A light rail train costs: Small-3 million -carries 100 people or less Large-4.5 million -carries 200 or more High speed- 100,000 normal speed- set speed when built This train takes 4 years to build
Our idea • Our idea is to build trains to go to Rolleston and back to the central area of Christchurch, as it is inconvenient for people travel in their cars. So we thought we should do this because we want save our environment in our backyard.
