TIMELINE • In January 1929 Himmler found his ‘’calling’’ with his appointment a commander if the blackshirt SS. • In 1934 won control of the Gestapo (secret police). • In 1936 He is head of all German police forces. • In 1943 Hitler appointed him minister of the inferior. • In 1944 Himmler became director of home-front operations and chief of the German armed forces operating within the borders of Germany. • In April he was captured by the British army. He was acheduled stand trial with the other German leaders as a major war criminal, but committed suicide shortly after his arrest.

He used these powers to exploit Jews ans Slavs as as salve labores, to gas millions of Jews, and to institute pseudo-medical experiments on “asocial individuals” (Jews, Gypsies, and criminals), to determine their resistance to extremes of cold and decompression. • The killing of the Jews represented for Himmler the fulfillment of a mission. • The “Final Solution” was the means to achieve the racial supremacy of the “Aryan” and purify the world contamination by subhumans.
