  2. GNIS Maintenance Partner Designation • Process coordinated with: • LMIC • State Demographers Office • Secretary of State’s Office • Department of Revenue • Municipal Boundaries Adjustment Unit • Metropolitan Council

GNIS Maintenance Partner Designation The Minnesota Governor’s Council on Geographic Information, a coordinating council created by an executive order of the Governor, designates the Land Management Information Center, as represented by its Geographic Information Clearinghouse Manager, as authorized to enter and edit data in the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), limited to “civil” and “populated place” feature types within the state of Minnesota.
