Who/ what are the Navy Seals? • “The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday”, a quote of the Navy Seals. • The Navy Seals are the special forces of the United States and part of the Navy. • I got interested in this field because I have always wanted to join the military and since my mother wont let me join the marines, I’ll decided to be a Seal. Also, I know a lot about guns and their mods. • If I want to be a seal I have to go to college and I have to have a degree in math and science. Plus, you need to be in great physical condition to get in as well.
Responsibilities • Navy Seals are responsible for protecting the lives of the incent. • They are also responsible for rescue missions. • Plus they are responsible for each other. They are supposed to bring back every one. • They have to be decisive and make the hard decisions. • They are responsible for keeping their own weight in check and staying in top physical condition.
Work environment • To work as a Navy Seal, you need to be able to adapt and be responsible. • You are either on a carrier or out in the field. • You don’t really have an office so there are not any requirements on being organized. • You have to utilize the special tech that has been given to you. • You may work in desert areas or forests. • You act as an individual but also as a tightly knit seal team.
Training and Qualifications • In part of the training you have to swim like a seal to the bottom to a 10 ft pool and grab a brick in your month and back to the top. • They make you go through a crash test to see if you are physically fit before they send you any farther. • They training for a seal is more than 12 months and consists of the basics and water demolition. • Training cost about 80,000 dollars and the fifty caliber sniper rifle costs 3,000.
Employment rate • You have to be 28 years old and you must be a U.S. citizen. • You also have to go under a physical examination like I have mentioned before. • The employment rate is not as high as you would think but that is because of all the requirements that you have to pass. • I could not find the number for the employment rate but I am sure that it is not very high.
Earnings • You get paid the same amount of money like the rest of the military. • But the Navy offers seals a $12,000 bonus in addition to their original payment. • Navy Seals are the highest paid operators in the military. • They earn additional pay by doing any thing having to do with jumps and special jobs.
Related Occupations • The other occupations are every other occupation in the military. • The navy is one because there are other jobs with in the navy. • Also the air force is another one. • The army or marines are also related.
Summary • I want to the join the Navy Seals because I want to join the navy and I didn’t want to be stuck on a ship so the seals were a good alternate. Also, I have always been fascinated by the seals so I have always wanted to be one. I cannot see myself sitting in an office for a job either. I am most excited about seeing the dogs that the seals use in combat. Plus, they get all the newest high tech gear so that would be cool as well.
