  2. Cropwise Rabi Assessment Area: 000 ha. Production: 000 MT.

  3. Rabi Assessment • Area increased by covering fallow land after Ragi • Winter rain has raised the hope of good rabi production. • Infestation of Yellow Rust was limited to 398 ha. only at ETL.

  4. Crop wise Kharif Prospects Area: 000 ha. Production: 000 MT.

  5. Strategy to Increase Kharif Production • Kharif seed distribution is Targeted for 38,220 Qtl. • Integration of balanced use of fertilizers, micro-nutrients, bio-fertilizers and weed control. • Bridging the yield gap. • Separate strategy for hills, valleys and plain areas.

  6. Fertilizer Demand (Kharif 2011-12) in MTs.. Allocation in April, 2011 by GOI, Urea : 12500 MT, DAP : 500 MT, NPK : 5500 MT, MOP : 2000 MT

  7. Integrated Plant Nutrient Management (IPNM) • 20,000 ha. area is proposed under green manuring. • Distribution of 120 MT. of bio-fertilizer. • Distribution of 2,500 MT. micro-nutrient. • Production of Vermi/Nadep Compost 58,800 MT. • Area under organic certification 60,000 Ha.

  10. Strengthening of Extension Machinery • 380 Farm Schools (4 in each block) operationalised. • “KRISHAK MAHOTSAVA” being organized in Kharif & Rabi at Nyay Panchyat Level involving all line departments, NGOs and private parties. Services & inputs are being provided to the farmers at their door steps by participating departments/organizations. • 3,227 SHGs and 64 Federations formed.

  13. ISSUES • Supply of DAP as per Demand. • Sanctioning Seed Testing Lab, Dehradun - proposal at GOI Level. • Providing necessary equipment at IPM Lab, Dehradun & Nainital – Pending request at GOI level

  14. Agricultural Marketing • APMC Act is passed by the State Government .
