SAP Rapid-Deployment Solution for Mobile Apps and Infrastructure – Customer FAQs • Q: What is new in Version 2 of the RDS as opposed to the earlier versions that was released on October 2011? • A: We added all new available apps, published since October 2011. There are major adjustments in the SUP and Gateway versions and in the following configuration. Afaria implementation and the Mobile Platform Implementation including Apps development are now available in separate RDSs: • - Afaria rapid-deployment solution • - Sybase Unwired Platform rapid-deployment solution • Additionally we have made some adjustments in the service Offering, see following slides. • Q: What if the customer wants to purchase more than 1 mobile app, what do they do? • A: Customers can deploy the first 1 app as a part of the fixed fee service for the RDS. If the customer still wants SAP/Partner to add one or more apps, beyond the original 1 app included in the RDS, then SAP/Partner can add an additional fee and duration for the additional app(s). • Q: What if the customer already owns SUP, Gateway or Afaria licenses, how will the RDS pricing look like? • A: SAP will offer existing SUP, Afaria, and Gateway customers a sales credit if and when they need to move to the RDS. • Q: I don’t see some mobile apps like Retail Execution or Citizen Connect in the list of mobile apps in this RDS, why is that? • A: Not all of SAP’s mobile apps are part of this RDS. Only the apps that run on SUP2.1.2 and Gateway 2.0 were included in this RDS. Future SAP mobile apps that run on the same architecture might be added to this RDS. • Q: What if the customer has an older version of SUP or Afaria? Does upgrading to the newer SUP 2.1.2 and Afaria 6.6 fall under the scope of the RDS? • A: No. Upgrades to SUP and Afaria typically require additional regression testing, which is not within the scope of the RDS. Customers can opt to upgrade existing SUP or Afaria instances before the start of the RDS or choose to install new instances of SUP 2.1.2 and Afaria 6.6 as part of the RDS. SAP Consulting, if requested, can help the customer with the upgrade and/or testing. • What if the customer wants to add more mobile users in the future? • A: During the RDS 9 week implementation SAP/Partner will deliver a knowledge transfer to the customer so they can add as many users as they want in the future provided they buy the necessary software licenses.
