CAD and MIS • Linux – RH 6.2 – SciComp, desktop • Windows • no physics computing; desktop only • Currently NT 4.0; Single Master Domain • W2000 Pro; beginning to investigate Server • Network Appliance – concurrent NFS & CIFS, user/group quotas, online backups • New F760, existing F760, F630 • /home, /group, /site - same for UNIX, Windows users • /apps - platform-specific • /mail, /db

Experimental Physics Computing • File Servers • 5TB total /work- Metastor– RAID 5 - NFS • 6 TB New Linux /cache servers – RAID 0 • Some problems with stability • 1TB /stage – Metastor – RAID 5 • additional 1TB nStor fibre-channel currently has problems connecting through Ancor switch to our SUN. (?) • Batch Farming • 125 RH Linux dual-processors – 6000+ SPECint95 • LSF licensing/pricing issue resolved • Mass Storage • CA OSM migration to JASmine • STK Powderhorn silo - /mss • 8 Redwoods, 10 9840s, 9940s next?
