Agenda • Welcome Introduction • Set the Context • Overview of New Methodologies • Case Studies Analysis • Debriefing • Next Steps
Setting the Context: Two Stories • What were we trying to accomplish? • What did we do? • How would we know if we had met our goals?
Story 1: PEJE CoPs • What were we trying to accomplish? • Knowledge building and knowledge sharing around how design professional development to improve ways students with diverse needs are included in Jewish day schools • What did we do? • Designed a monthly CoP call that joined two CoPs • Invited guest panelists with different perspectives • Encouraged conversation about three assertions
Case Study: PEJE CoP • How did we know if we met our goals?
Case Study 2: Kehilliyot • What were we trying to accomplish? • Design a face-to-face meeting to meet the learning needs of members • To build connections among members • What did we do? • Formed a design team to plan and contributed to the facilitation of the meeting • Surveyed community members about learning needs • Implemented the plan and debriefed afterwards
Case Study: Kehilliyot • How did we know if we met our goals?
Sheila Rosenblum: Tracer Methodology • [15 minutes]
SNA: Bruce Hoppe • [15 mintues]
Case Study Analysis [Possible Cases by: Debbie N., Caren Levine, Steve Krauss, Brenda G., Gayle Bloom, Joan Bronspeigel, YU, BJE NY]
Case Study Analysis Process • Set goals • Hear about CoPs in action • Apply learning • Provide value to the case study presenter • Quick “marketing” of each case • Select which group to join and assign roles • Identify recorder, timekeeper, and reporter • Hear longer case • Discuss possible methods for evaluation
Guiding Questions for Small Groups • In what ways could a Tracer Study be of use? • In what ways could a SNA be of use? • What other methods might be considered? • What additional questions emerge?
Whole Group Debriefing • What is one insight about evaluation emerged from your group discussion?
Next Steps • Contact Naava re Kehilliyot, if interested • Contact Judy if interested in a PEJE CoP • Participate in follow-up discussion with this group on xxxxxxxxxx
