Definition of Title I: • Title I provides federal funding to schools to help students who are low achieving or at most risk of falling behind. • Title I is allocated to schools based on the percentage of student receiving free/reduced lunch. • Schools with a percentage of at least 40% are eligible for a school-wide program. JMHS has 75% of students who are eligible for free and reduced lunch.

  3. John Marshall operates a Title I School-wide Program.

  4. To be a “Schoolwide” School: • The school must have a free/reduced lunch count of at least 40%. • The school must collect and analyze data that effects student achievement. • The school must develop a comprehensive site plan and annually review the effectiveness of the plan.

  5. Schoolwide means: • The school uses Title I funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school. • Title I funds are used to serve all children in order to raise academic achievement. This includes after-school tutoring and buses. • Title I funds will be used to provide additional assistance to all students who experience difficulties in meeting the State’s performance targets.

  7. High School Budget: • Salaries and benefits - $44,272.13 • Professional Development – $14,600.00 • Suppl. Instruction licenses/materials - $14,191.00 • Activity bus (afterschool tutoring) - $6,790.91 • Total budget: $85,889.44

  8. Middle School Budget: • Salaries and benefits - $55,527.29 • Professional Development – $4,200.00 • Suppl. Instruction materials - $915.51 • Parental Involvement expenses - $1,758.12 • Total budget: $63,850.92
