Simple Symbiosis. Specimen 1-Lichen. Lichen- a fungus lives with a photosynthetic partner (usually green algae) that can produce food for the lichen from sunlight. Fungus provides nutrients to algae Algae provides food to fungus. Specimen 2- Ticks Fleas and Worms on Dogs.

Specimen 2- Ticks Fleas and Worms on Dogs • Ticks, fleas and worms get nourishment from dog. • Dog is harmed.. may become sick from bites/diseases
Specimen 3- Clown Fish and Sea Anemone • Sea Anemone protects the clown fish- it does not sting the fish. • As other fish try and attack the clown fish the sea anemone stings them and eats the other fish. Clown fish is protected.
Specimen 4- Galls on Oak Leaves • Insects form a nursery called a gall on the leaf/branch of a tree. Insects have a safe place to develop. • Tree is not helped or harmed by the galls.
Specimen 5- Mistletoe • Mistletoe gets food and water from the tree. • Tree loses food and water that it needs and eventually will die.
Specimen 6- Mites on African Hissing Cockroaches • Mites get free food by hanging out with roaches • Roaches are not affected by presence of mites.
