What achievement combined bravery and technology to enthrall the world? Map: • 4. Where were more people per square mile concentrated, in the eastern or western part of the U.S.? • 5. Between 1900-1920, there were changes regarding the places people chose to live. Looking at the map, find one such change that took place.

  8. Changing Demographics • 1920 immigration restrictions left employers looking for workers • Mexicans and Canadians filled the low-paying jobs • Mexicans filled jobs in West, esp. Los Angeles barrios • Migrations also caused suburbs to grow • Changes in transportation also helped (autos & busses)
