What is a Campaign? “Work in an organized and active way towards a goal” – Oxford English Dictionary The goal for every candidate should be to get elected.

TASK: • Taking on all you have learnt onboard, I want you to get into groups and plan a week of campaign action. • It should breakdown by day, location, and campaign action.
Direct Communication • We have students based at the following campuses and sites: • Derby Campus (Kedleston Road, Markeaton Street, Britannia Mill, Derby Theatre, Chesterfield). • Buxton (Devonshire) Campus • Buxton and Leek College (Buxton and Leek sites)
The Apathy Staircase Experience – provides platform to understand nature of experience Injustice – tell Students their experience is unjust Organisation – Need to provide support so. Action – Students must have gone through previous stages.
TASK: • Gather into groups of two. • Take the role scenarios cards provided on the next slide. • Act out the scenario based on the character you are portraying.
Question and Answer Sessions • These Q&A sessions will be your chance to convince students, in detail, about why they should vote for you. • The first Q&A you will do will be in the form of a video podcast, the second will take place in the Atrium of Kedleston Road and the third and final one will take place at the Dome in Buxton.
TASK: • Write a 30 second speech on something that matters to you. • It can be anything you like!

Overcoming Fear • Write your answers in plenty of time • Be comfortable with the main points you’d like to make • Research and understand your area to improve confidence • Practice in front of somebody that you trust will give you supportive and productive feedback • Most importantly: Get used to hearing your own voice out loud!
Back to the TASK • Having gone through the task, revisit your speech and include some of the techniques you have seen in the video and discussed.
