  1. CLIL ELETTRONICA TEACHER SETTANNI DIODES GABRIELE MONTINARO GIULIO MICIELI

  2. DIODES • WHAT’S A DIODES • HOW CAN YOU USE DIODES • SOME EXAMPLE DIODE CIRCUITS

  3. WHAT’S ADIODE The diode is a passive electronic component non-linear,two-terminal (bipolar), that allows the flow of electric current only in one direction.

  4. For these proprietiesthediodes is calledrectifier

  5. A diode’s I–V characteristic can be approximated by four regions of operation (see the next figure).

  6. 4 REGIONS BREAKDOWN REVERSE FORWARD OFF FORWARD ON

  7. I-V

  8. CIRCUIT SYMBOL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

  9. TYPES OF DIODES THERE ARE MANY DIODES: ZENER SCHOTTKY VARICAP LED

  10. Zener diodes Diodes that can be made to conduct backwards. This effect, called Zener breakdown, occurs at a precisely defined voltage, allowing the diode to be used as a precision voltage reference

  11. LED A light-emitting diode (LED)is an electronic light source. LEDs are based on the semiconductor diode.
