Update on FY 2011 Data and Reporting System • CAR submitted in late December • Data Discrepancies • 39 Vocational Programs transitioned to 31 Clusters/Pathways • Measures most impacted: 6S1 and 6S2 Performance Measures
Update on FY 2011 Data and Reporting System, Continued • EXAMPLE: • An example of a VE-2 program that was nontraditional and did not transition to a pathway that is nontraditional is Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management, 19.0505. • According to the December 2008 release of the CIP-Nontraditional-Cluster-Pathway released by the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity, (NAPE) 91.0% of women are employed in this CIP Code, making this a CIP Code nontraditional for Male. • This VE-2 program in Kansas transitioned to 19.0505 Restaurant and Event Management. • According to the chart, this CIP Code is 43.4% women, making it a traditional CIP Code for both genders.
Update on FY 2011 Data Reporting System Continued • Reporting System Changed • Previously data reported in another report that compiled several pieces of information besides CTE concentrators and participants. This report was completed at the district level. • New Career and Technical Education reporting system, Pathways: • Different people are now reporting the information. • Training provided to individuals on the reporting of the data. • The data provided in the 2011 CAR most accurate data available. • Recent emails have gone out to districts with the FY 2011 data. • New system will improve data accuracy for 2011-2012 school year • Reports available within the Pathways application • Reduction of errors • Districts wanting access to the FY 2010 can go to
FY 2013 Perkins Grant Update • Last year of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 • Fifth year of the 5 year plan • Must use data to support projects, services and activities • Better explanation of data that can be used to support Plan Narrative will be provided • Begin looking at RPOS 10 Framework Components to help with a smoother transition to Perkins V • Begin considering the RPOS Self-Assessment of the 10 Framework Components
