  2. ATTENDANCE &TARDINESS • Your child should be in school on time, in uniform, EVERY DAY!! • If your child is absent he/she should bring in a note, preferably from a doctor. • Excessive tardiness or absences have a negative impact on your child’s grade.

  3. Parent Portal • Access to student grades and on line textbooks • You can use an existing log in from a previous school • If you do not have a PIN number, see Mrs. Cruz in the main office to receive one. • You cannot access the portal without a PIN

  4. Essential Classroom Supplies • Agenda – Please check daily for homework assignments and other important information • Blue Home Learning Folder • Composition Book – math vocabulary and notes • Blue Spiral Notebook – Science vocabulary, notes, and labs • Pencil Case – at least 3 pencils, eraser

  5. FCAT • The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) • In 3rd grade, students will be taking the Reading and Math portion of the FCAT. • http://www.firn.edu/doe/sas/fcat.htm • Testing: April 15-19th

FCAT Mathematics Content • Basic Multiplication and Division • Fractions – modeling fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering fractions • Two-Dimensional Shapes - describe and analyze properties • Patterns • Geometry and Measurement – length, perimeter, time • Number and Operations – comparing, ordering, estimation, problem solving • Data Analysis – frequency tables, pictographs, bar graphs, line plots
