Mission • Mission is to promote the sound management of watersheds by sharing methodologies, experiences and information and by stimulating collaboration and scientific exchanges 24th Session of the North American Forestry Commission San Juan, Puerto Rico June 8-13, 2008
Objectives • Identify areas of scientific and technical collaboration by: • initiating and communicating joint activities of the Working Group; • exchanging information and tools to enhance watershed management; • exploring and creating linkages with other bodies concerned with watershed management; and, • exchanging data and data collection methods and protocols to allow data aggregation at larger scales • Promote the importance of sound watershed management to resource managers, policy and decision makers and the public 24th Session of the North American Forestry Commission San Juan, Puerto Rico June 8-13, 2008
History • First meeting to develop a working group charter was held in Guadalajara in February 2006. Charter approved by BOA in spring 2007 • Country co-chairs met in Ballston in March 2008 and developed action plan 24th Session of the North American Forestry Commission San Juan, Puerto Rico June 8-13, 2008
