Specialists in Eating Disorders Treatment Welcome to Ellern Mede
About Ellern Mede Ellern Mede Eating Disorder Services is widely regarded as the UK’s most specialist provider of intensive inpatient and outpatient treatment for children and young people. We have a higher proportion of staff to patients than any other UK specialist eating disorder provider, able to provide close personal care to all of our patients. In inpatient care, we treat people aged 8 to 18 years with eating disorders as well as young people 18 to 25 to assist with the transition out of children’s and into adult services.
Outpatient Services Do I have an eating disorder? If that’s what you wonder, it’s worth checking, because early intervention vastly improves your speed of recovery. Your first step should be to see your GP and ask for a Junior or Adult MARSIPAN check, blood tests and assessment with a referral for a specialist Outpatient Eating Disorder Assessment, such as we offer at Ellern Mede Group hospitals. Our affordable private outpatient services are for children to age 18, young adults up to age 25, with specialist support for families and carers. Note: Outpatient Services are temporarily remote consultation only. We are not open to new Outpatient cases as of 16 March 2020 until further notice.
Why Ellern Mede Ellern Mede is independent, but requires close liaison with NHS and private primary care for continuity of care and crisis planning. The advantage means these other resources assist you both during and after your Ellern Mede Outpatient Programme. We offer Day Patient services when you require a more intensive package of support but don’t require full hospitalisation. We can help you to stay out of hospital this way.
