  4. Food • 300 pounds of food a day • 16 hours a day • Vegetarians • twigs, grass, fruit, bark, figs, raspberries, plums

  5. Predators • One main enemy • humans: kill for their tusks • wild dogs, coyotes, crocodiles, lions, tigers, & hyenas attack when elephant is a baby, alone, or sick

  6. Interesting Facts • females are in charge • foot does not make a sound when they walk • pick food up and drink water with trunk • it’s nose is a better smeller than most dogs • life cycle: baby-adolescent-adult
