  2. SAMOHI Graduation Requirements • Social Studies – 4 years 9th – Freshman Seminar 10th – World History 11th – US History 12th – Government/Economics • English – 4 years English 9 English 10 English 11 English 12

  3. SAMOHI Graduation Requirements • Math – 3 years required (9th – 12th)

  4. SAMOHI Graduation Requirements • Science – 2 years Life Science (Example: Biology) – 1 year Physical Science (Example: Chemistry) – 1 year • Visual or Performing Arts/Language - 1 year Either Fine Art OR Foreign Language

  5. SAMOHI Graduation Requirements • Physical Education – 2 years (4 semesters) • Electives – 60 credits (Anything beyond required classes goes into elective credits for H.S. graduation purposes)

  6. SAMOHI Graduation Requirements • Earn a total of 220 credits & complete ALLrequired classes. • Pass bothsections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) with a score of 350 or higher. • Math • English • Take care of all OBLIGATIONS: • Financial - Sports • Discipline • Textbooks

UC & CSU “A-G” COURSE REQUIREMENTS “A” US History/Social Science:(2 yrs) World History, US History, OR Gov. “B” English:(4 yrs) College Preparatory English “C” Mathematics:(3 yrs) Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II *4 years recommended “D”Laboratory Science:(2 yrs) Biology, Chemistry are required *3 years recommended colleges recommend Physics for 3rd year “E” Language Other Than English:(2 yrs) Spanish, French, Japanese, & Latin *3 years recommended****MUST BE SAME LANGUAGE**** “F” Visual & Performing Arts:(1 yr) Art, Drama or Music ****MUST BE SAME VPA**** “G” Electives:(1 additional year from any of the above categories)

American College Test (ACT) *** for UC system ACT must include writing section*** For a list of differences between tests, see SAMO website UC Requirement & Some CSU Majors 3. SAT Subject Tests ***2 Subject Tests*** (Students are NOT required to take mathhowever if they choose math, it must be MATH 2C)

FAQ Time • Quality participation and commitment in one or few activities • Service to the community – volunteering, internships • President or officer in a club or organization • Captain/Co-captain of an athletic team • Employment – (See ROP office for assistance) • Hobbies • Record these activities on your brag sheet * Always have a balance between academics & activities

FAQ Time • Must have an A or B in the previous year’s subject area • Must have the previous teacher’s recommendation • District tests may be used in the process to determine eligibility • Must meet all pre-requisites found in the Samohi course catalogue (located on school website)
