  2. Watershed Development Department uses following software Applications. SujalaMahithi Sukriya HRMS MPR WPMIS Online Monitoring Systems for River Valley Project & NWDPRA A to Z

SujalaMahithi • Deployed in Sujala Districts ( Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Haveri, Dharwad) • Used as stand alone Package, can also be used as Web based application • The Package ‘SujalaMahithi’ , has been customized for Sujala project and it is being used by the field functionaries (District Watershed offices and Filed NGOs) at micro watershed level. The package allows the user to query, analyze and generate reports at different levels of user’s choice. i.e Information could be generated on specific project components at State / District Taluk / Sub watershed / Micro watershed level on a weekly / monthly basis.

  4. Sujalamahithi in Sujala Watershed Project • Sujalamahithi was used for the following • Planning • Phasing of Activity program • Action Plan • Monitoring • Progress reviews • Activity wise progress is monitored • Status Reporting • To GOK • To GOI • To world bank

  5. KEY OBJECTIVES • Concurrent monitoring of the project • Input creation at micro watershed • Create and update databases on social and natural resources • Query and report generation at District, Sub watershed and Micro watershed • Allow decision makers to analyse periodic field data

SUKRIYA (Sujala Watershed Action Plan) • Action plan Preparation Package • Bilingual (Kannada & English) stand alone package • Deployed in Sujala Districts ( Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Haveri, Dharwad) • Client Side : Windows XP, MS Access • Developed using Visual basic and Crystal reports OBJECTIVE • Sujala Watershed Project has a unique approach for participatory action plan preparation and implementation. Sujala Watershed Action Plan (SWAP) is a very important and uniquely executed process needs participation of all stakeholders and it addresses every individual farmer to arrive at an integrated action plan for sustainable development. This package will take Beneficiary details, Planned activities as input. Generates varieties of report

WPMIS (Watershed Programme Monitoring Information System) • Web Based Application • Designed & Hosted by National Informatics Center, Dept. of IT, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, GOI. • Data is keyed in by ZP officials at District level USAGE • Monitoring at State level and at National level ADP, DPAP, DDP, IWDP Watershed Projects • Work wise Progress is monitored

MPR (Monthly Progress Reporting) • Web Based Application • Designed & Hosted by National Informatics Center, Dept. of IT, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, GOI. • Data is keyed in by ZP officials at District level USAGE • Monitoring ADP, DPAP, DDP IWDP Watershed Projects at State level and at a National level. • Sector wise progress is monitored

  15. Highlights Department has Website – http://watershed.kar.nic.in and it is updated periodically. It is proposed to have Audio - Video conferencing Modern tools like Remote sensing, Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Geographical Information System (GIS) are being effectively used in the Department. Department had received e-Governance Award for the year 2008-09 for adoption for e-Governance initiatives in Sujala Watershed Project.
