Samson and Delilah A story of deceit
In the beginning Samson’s mother was not able to have any children but an angel of the lord came to her and said, “God is going to give you a son, make sure you don’t eat any animal not clean or drink wine your going to have a very special son he should never cut his hair and his purpose is to help save the Israelites from the Philistines”
The special boy was born and named Samson. As he grew up he realized he had a special gift, he was incredibly strong. Samson grew up and was able to kill a lion that attacked him with his bare hands and defended himself against 1000 Philistines.
As Samson started to become a young man he liked this girl named Delilah. The rulers of Philistine wanted to know why Samson was so strong so they approached Delilah on her way home and asked if she could find out why Samson is so strong. They offered her 5,500 pieces of silver. She thought about it and said she’ll do it.
Delilah made Samson his favourite dinner and asked him how your enemies can tie you up and how you can get out so quickly, Samson answered, “If anyone tied me up with seven new bowstrings ill become as weak as any other man. So the philistines tied Samson up and he broke free.
Delilah asked Samson everyday how he was so strong, finally Samson said, “My hair has never been cut I have a gift from god and if my head was shaved I would become as weak as any other man. So Delilah went to the Philistines and told them.
Samson fell asleep on Delilahs lap so she got someone else to shave off his hair, as they were shaving it off Samson’s body became weaker. When it was all off Delilah called out, “Samson the philistines are coming!”
As he woke up he didn’t know his gift from god was gone and the philistines grabbed him and he could not do anything to fight them off.
In the end the Philistines captured Samson but his hair began to grow again and Samson regained his strength before they could kill him. He was tied up to two large pillars when he broke free the temple fell on him and a large number of philistines and this was how god freed the Israelites from the philistines.
