Hazards of major accidents decree 1999 • Complementary legislation: • Disaster information decree • Disaster response plans decree • Appr. 350 Seveso sites, 170 must produce a Safety Report • 1 inspector of each authority for 7 Seveso sites
Co-ordination • 1 co-ordinating authority: the environmental licencing authority • Frontoffice: Recieves the Safety report and forwards to other authorities • Backoffice: • Responsible for a joint Inspection programme • Coordinates assesment of the safety report • Prepares inspection report and feedback to the company
