Douglas Colliery - contractor control system EXPANSION OF THE PERMIT TO WORK CONCEPT Modified permit system has been introduced to mine employees working over week-ends • All week-end work is planned and authorised by the relevant Manager or Engineer. • Risk assessments for the jobs to be done are attached to the permission. • Persons required to do the jobs are identified. • Risk assessments are signed for by the persons doing the job. • If there is no risk assessment, it is done and documented before the jobcommences. • A record of all week-end work is kept and stand-bye personnel • check compliance.
