CURRICULUM PROGRAMS HCC has taught entrepreneurship in our degree seeking programs since 1991. We were the first community college in the state of North Carolina to use the North Carolina REAL Enterprises training materials in community college courses. (REAL-Rural Entrepreneurship through Active Learning)

ENTREPRENEURSHIP VIDEO MODULES GRANT The Business & Entrepreneurship Department was awarded a grant for $5,000 to complete an Entrepreneurship Video Modules Grant by The Coleman Foundation. The elevator grant was awarded at the NACCE annual conference in 2007. To complete the grant the Small Business Center, the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce, the Haywood County Economic Development Commission, and 15 local entrepreneurs were involved.

Haywood Early College Opportunity to complete a high school diploma, an Associates of Arts degree, and an Associates of Applied Science from the Business & Entrepreneurship Department in five years Students can begin taking classes from the Business & Entrepreneurship Department as early as their ninth grade A goal is to have all students in the HEC enrolled in classes where they are presented entrepreneurship concepts
A.A.S. in ENTREPRENEURSHIP HCC is serving as the lead community college in the North Carolina Community College System to development of a new degree major in Entrepreneurship. The area of service is the 7 westernmost counties in the state. Classes are to be offered as physical classes and online. New courses in the Entrepreneurship major will include: Intro to Entrepreneurship Innovation and Creativity Entrepreneur Marketing Funding for Entrepreneurs Entrepreneurship Issues
Partnering with WCU to Develop a 2+2 Program in Entrepreneurship After graduation in the A.A.S. program in Entrepreneurship students will be able to transfer to Western Carolina University receiving two years of credit toward a B.S. in Entrepreneurship.
