My Trip to Egypt By Jemma Rowe
Dear Diary, Today I’m on my way to Egypt. At the minute I’m sailing across the Red Sea to my destination
Dear Dairy, Today I learnt about what Egyptians would have ate. One of there favourite foods was Teal a sea water fish. Some of the foods they ate were: Bread, Grapes for wine, Geese, Duck, and Goats. Servants found a lot of this food. They also used things similar to buckets to carry water to where it was needed. I don’t think I would have liked to be a servant!
use to wear! Dear Dairy, Today I meet a lady and she told me about what ancient Egyptians A lot of there clothes were made out of linen. Apparently, made out of flax plant which they grew. Woman wore straight dresses. Men wore a loincloth or short kilt. While children (until the age of 6) wore nothing at all. Egyptians also liked wearing jewellery to honour there Gods. And most people wore what you and I would now call eyeliner.
learnt. Dear Diary, I was exploring old Egyptian homes today, guess what I Most Egyptian homes were made by brick. The brick was made from mud and sand. Servants made a lot of these houses
Dear Diary, did you know that ancient Egyptians didn’t have cars? To get around Egyptians used to use animals ( donkeys and camels), boats and chariots.
Dear Diary, Today I went to an Egyptian temple to learn about there Gods. There were lots of Gods and Goddesses, including: Ra the sun God, Hathor the music God, Sekhmet God of Destruction, Nut the sky God, Geb the earth God, Ma'at God of Justice. Just to name a few!
Dear Diary, Today I’ve been on a tower group & tomorrow I’m going again. Today we got a tower about Egyptian sport. There main sports were: Javelin throwing, Archery, Wrestling, Ball Games And Swimming /Rowing
Dear Dairy, The second day of the tower was even better! We learnt about Languages and Art. Egyptian Languages include: Egyptian, Egyptian Arabic, Coptic. Egyptian is the oldest Egyptian language.
I also learnt this about art: The Egyptians considered there art to be a form of story telling. Most of the time they would draw about there gods Or some ones life.
Dear Dairy, Today I travelled to the ground of an old Primary school! I learnt that all wealthy boys started school at the age of 4. Before they started there Father decided what career his son should have. His son then only learnt subjects related to that. Girls didn’t get to go to school. All the stuff they learnt at home from there parents.
Dear Dairy, It’s my 12th day in Egypt and guess where I’ve just been. Today I discovered who created the laws of ancient Egypt. The pharaohs of ancient Egypt made the laws. If you didn’t follow the laws based on common sense you would be badly punished! Most of the punishments could kill you.
Dear Diary, Today an Egyptian told me about his ancestors old Government. The ancient Egyptian Government was made up of there Pharaoh(Leader), Vizier(right hand man, second in charge) And the rest of the Government was made up of the Royal’s.
Dear Diary, This is my last day before I leave on the boat so I’ve left the best till last. I visited a Religious Centre today. We got told about how if there were no religions we Wouldn’t have some of the pyramids that we do today!
Dear Dairy, I am now on a boat going safely home! If I had ran ancient Egypt I would have not been as harsh on all servants Because the more people that die the less workers you have. I would also have given most servants a day or night shift. As on there shift they could work better!. And I would treat every one as if they played a role in the community
