Additional Graduation Requirements • Pass both sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) • Students must take and pass Algebra I • Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA
Need a Helping Hand? • Tutoring available in all core subjects after school • Daily contracts offered for parents who want to keep students on track
Honors – What to Do • A or B in current subject matter • Get teacher recommendations • Make sure you can handle the honors coursework • Make sure you can handle the number of those courses you select • Keep things in balance

Electives Business Law Orientation to Business Introductory course on personal and career exploration Focuses on skills necessary to enter the workforce Explore interests and match them with a fulfilling career • Basic framework of the law • How laws affect everyday life • Ideal for students considering careers in law
Electives Computer Business Apps Graphic Design Prepares students for entry-level positions in the graphic arts field Production of camera-ready art w/emphasis on design and development Industry standard software is used • Project based class w/a focus on learning MS office • Complete interesting projects using Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access • Increase speed & accuracy in keyboarding w/daily practice
Electives Web Page Design 1 • Basics of the World Wide Web, web page authoring, and setting up a personal Internet web site • Topics include: Web browsers, text editors, HTML and CSS coding, graphic design, interactive techniques, multimedia, and web site promotion
Electives Drama Folk Guitar Read music in treble clef Learn chords, chord progressions, and how to read tablature Compose music and perform within the high school • Overview of theatre • Emphasis on history, acting skills, improvisation, and basic technical responsibilities • Creativity and critical thinking
Electives (Beginning) Choir Spanish I/French I Introduction to linguistic and cultural structures necessary for basic communication in Spanish/French. designed to teach the basic elements of the Spanish/French language and culture. • Introduction to choir • Culture and the arts • Note value, measures, treble clef • Rhythm, sight reading, note names
Electives Spanish 1, Native Spkr Comix Appreciation Read and analyze long form comics Class discussions, presentations, and essays Fundamentals for script writing, character design, page layout, and story creation • Linguistic and cultural structures necessary for communication in Spanish for the fluent Spanish speaker. • designed to teach elements of the Spanish language and culture.
Electives Emergency 1st Response Principles of Engnrg. How things are made & what processes go into creating products Use of industry-leading 3D design software Topics include (but not limited to) mechanisms, energy, statics, materials & kinematics • Essential for students who want to pursue a career in healthcare, fire science, law enforcement, or military • All students receive a Red Cross Certification in CPR • Provides skills to react as the first responder to an emergency scene
Electives Intro to Engineering/IED • Introduction of the engineering design process beginning w/the research process & brain storming problem resolutions • 3 dimensional image sketching & building of prototype replicas/models
UC and CSU Requirements • University of California A-G (grade of “C” or better): • A. History/Social Science: 2 years • B. English (Lit/Comp): 4 years • C. Math: 3 years* • D. Laboratory Science: 2 years* • E. Foreign Language: 2 years* • F. Visual/Performing Arts: 1 year • G. College Prep Electives: 1 year • *One additional unit recommended (for UC) though not required
