  2. Imperatives • You know that an imperative sentence gives a command and an interrogative sentence asks a question. • Can you find the subject of these imperative sentences? • Forget about the crowds in the subway. • Please call a taxi for me.

  3. Imperatives • The subject of an imperative sentence is always you. You is usually understood rather than stated. • (You) Forget about the crowds in the subway. • (You) Please call a taxi for me.

  4. Interrogatives • In an interrogative sentence, the subject is always stated, but it does not begin the sentence. • You can usually find the subject of an interrogative sentence by rearranging the question into a statement. • Then ask who or what is doing the action of the verb. • Will the taxi get to the airport on time? • The taxi will get to the airport on time.
