THE TIGUAS. FOOD. The T iguas main diet were vegetables such as corn,squash,beans and melons T hey also added fish and rabbits to have a balance in there diet . The T iguas were farmers but were also very talented hunters. CLOTHING. The men’s shirts were made by buckskin.

FOOD • The Tiguas main diet were vegetables such as corn,squash,beans and melons • They also added fish and rabbits to have a balance in therediet. • The Tiguaswere farmers but were also very talented hunters
CLOTHING • The men’s shirts were made by buckskin. • They were dyed with a red and brown dye. • Both men and women wore sandals.
Shelter and home • They built there new pueblo in what today is known as El Paso • They built there house out of adobe. Adobe is a mixture of clay soil and grass that were dried and shaped into bricks. • A new pueblo is a house that indians would build.it looked • Something like a apartment building.
Location/habitat • The Tigua’s had to move from the gran quivera in 1670 because of a drought. • they moved to what is now known as El Paso • Some of the tiguas actually went to a different tribe after the drought.
government • The leader of a tribe is called a Cacique. • The Tigua’s also had a war chief. • These two leaders would lead most of the ceremonie’s,dance’s and songs. • They also would worship a place called Hueco tanks.
Customs/cultures/jobs • The tiguas owned a farm and each family member had a job. • The men would clear the fields while the women would dig holes and plant seeds. While the plants were growing the children would kill weeds and bugs that could harm the plants. • When a baby was born he was given a ear of corn toprotect him from evil. They also ha a drum that was passed downfrom family to family. Nobody really knows how old it is
