Pre-set information • The First Referee will inform the official scorer which bench the home team has selected • The Scorer will write the team names on the scoresheet according to the side the team will be on during the set • After the coin toss the referee will inform the scorer of which team will have first serve

  6. Team names are written on the scoresheet as the teams are positioned on the court. In this set Visitor is on the scorers left and Home is on the scorers right. Visitor will have first serve.   8. The Second Referee will collect the lineup sheets from each team • The Scorer records the numbers of the starting players of each team on the scoresheet under “PLAYER NUMBERS” from the lineup sheet submitted • Each square on the scoresheet represents one play or action such as a serve, substitution or a time out

  12. When the set begins record the start time Visitor #5 serves 3 points.   13. The running score column is marked as the game progresses. • When there is a discrepancy between the running score column and the individual scores, the individual score is considered official.

  15. Home will receive a loss of rally point. A point is placed on the line of the next scheduled server. All points earned from the opponents loss of rally are placed in a square in both the service area and the Running Score column..   16. Be sure the correct player number is serving • Check the player # every time a server goes back to serve • If not the correct player number serving notify the referee immediately there is a wrong server • Remember – they are not the wrong server until they contact the ball for serve

  17. Home serves and loses the rally. Place the loss of rally/end of service mark in the next box for Home. Give the loss of rally point to the Visitor team.   19. Visitor #4 serves two points(5 &6). Home request a substitution. #25 for #23. On the service line “Sx” for substitution opponent , the # of the player entering is on the left of “/” then the player # leaving. The player number coming in is then written in the ‘Players Numbers’ column by the player number leaving the game.   20. Visitor serves 2 more points.(7&8) A Red Card Penalty is given to Visitor #3. A comment is written in the Comments section and Visitor loses the serve. “P-1” is written on the service line of the Visitor team showing the penalty. On the Home team “P2” is written to show point #2 was given due to a penalty. What Goes in the Comments Section? • WarningYellow Card= PW#12Team name(7-6) When writing the score it is the score at the time the card is given – the score of the team receiving the card is place first, then the other teams score No Penalty point assessed with a yellow card • PenaltyRed Card= Pl#3Team name(7-3) Loss of rally/point awarded to opponent • Disqualification =Yellow &Red Card = DQ#4Team name(4-14) Loss of rally/point awarded to opponent • Uniform/Equipment Violations = E#5Team name (3-0) means a player attempted/or discovered with illegal equipment in the game Team charged a time out • Concussion Management =“concussion management player #10 is removed from the set (12-13)” • Exceptional Substitution or Redesignation of libero = • ES #8/#3 Team Name (22-23)

For example, if Visitor requests a substitution, #6 for #5, the libero tracker would record that action by slashing the “5” and writing a “6” immediately to the right of the of the slashed “5”. The lineups are entered on the Libero Tracking Sheet the same as they are entered on the scoresheet

This exchange is recorded in a similar fashion, except an “L” used to indicate the libero’s entry. The lineups are entered on the Libero Tracking Sheet the same as they are entered on the scoresheet The Libero Tracker tracks the Libero replacements and all substitutions. For example, if East requests a substitution, #7 for #5, the libero tracker would record that action by slashing the “5” and writing a “7” immediately to the right of the of the slashed “5”.

The Libero Tracker must notify the second referee immediately if an improper libero replacement occurs.

After the next rally, the West Libero, #13, replaces #26. This exchange is recorded in a similar fashion, except an “L” used to indicate the libero’s entry. The lineups are entered on the Libero Tracking Sheet the same as they are entered on the scoresheet The Libero Tracker tracks the Libero replacements and all substitutions. For example, if East requests a substitution, #7 for #5, the libero tracker would record that action by slashing the “5” and writing a “7” immediately to the right of the of the slashed “5”.

  45. What if a team does not have a Libero? No tracking will take place for that team • Note- A different libero can be designated for each set, but the designation must be made on the lineup sheet when it is submitted to the official scorer before the set. • During a time out the Libero Tracker is to inform the R2 if the libero is ‘on’ of ‘off’ the court for each team when the time-out was requested.

  46. 7 30 Visitor Home 5 23 L 4 24c 3 26 20 12c 11 21 10 22 In addition to recording the libero exchanges, the libero tracker must note the serving position of the libero to help ensure that the libero only serves in one position in each set. When a libero contacts the ball to serve, a triangle is drawn around the corresponding Roman numeral in the “Serving Order” column to note the libero service position. This will be the only service position where the libero can serve for the remainder of the current set. The West libero replaces #23 to serve.
