  2. Definition Electromagneticradiationis a combination of oscillatingelectric and magneticfieldsthatpropagatethroughspacecarryingenrgyfromone place toanother.

  3. Use Clasification: • Active solar. To use low temperature . • Passive Solar. The sun's heat without mechanisms or mechanical systems. • Solar thermal. To produce low-temperature hot water for sanitary and heating • Solar PV. To produce electricity using semiconductor plates are altered by solar radiation. • Solar thermal: To produce electricity with a conventional thermodynamic cycle from a high temperature heated fluid • Solar Hybrid: combines solar energy with other energy. According to the energy that is a hybrid combining:- Renewable: Biomass, wind energy.- Fossil. • Energy Solar wind: Works with the air heated by the sun, which goes up a chimney where the generators

  4. Examples: • PV plant. • Solar thermal power. • Solar Cooking. • Distillation. • Evaporation. • Photosynthesis. • Drying. • Sustainable architecture. • Solar Roof. • Fitness and energy savings in buildings. • Water heating. • Domestic heating. • Lighting. • Refrigeration. • Air conditioning.

  5. Advantage • This type of energy does not pollute. • It is an inexhaustible source. • It is an energy harvesting system for areas where power lines do not reach (islands, mountainous areas ...) • The only investment is the initial cost of the infrastructure. • Photovoltaic solar energy does not require holding any given space, can be installed roofs and buildings. • It is a sector that promotes job creation.

  6. Disadvantage • Is very dilute. This means that we have to have a lot of solar collectors installed in your home. • We need sunlight to make use of solar energy. If there is not much sunlight you live, could be problem. Example: • In Arizona or Mexico the sun produces a lot of sunshine in most parts of the year and is ideal for collecting solar energy. Arizona. México.
