Day 1—Exploring Declaration of Independence • Student determine ideals/define them and give modern examples • Students learn to use PAI textbook
Day 2—Discovering American Ideals in Primary Sources • Students work with partner to explore photographs from America’s past and decide which of the ideals the photo relates to, whether or negatively. • Gives student specific details for their portfolio piece
Day 3—Writing the Essay • Graphic Organizer Provider • Students explore their own thoughts on American history • Write final draft at the end of the semester
