  5. Things to do to photos • Save a copy • Never work on the original(just in case….)

  6. Making files smaller • Why? • Web download time • Loading in PowerPoint • Focusing attention • How? • Crop • Resize • Change format and resolution

  7. Cropping • Cropping in PhotoShop handout • Crop tool • Draw rectangle around area to keep • Start at top left • Click and Drag to bottom right • Hit Enter

  8. Resizing • In PhotoShopFrom Top menu bar: • Image  Image Size • In Word or PowerPoint After using Insert  Image  from file • Click image to select and • Drag a corner anchor point

  9. Changing format and resolution • Use the PhotoShopSave for Web Screen • In PhotoShop:From the menu bar, click File  Save for Web…. • see your Preparing pictures… handout

  10. Inserting into Office • For all Microsoft Office programs • From the menu bar, click Insert  Picture  From File • Click picture to pop up the picture toolbar for additional processing

  11. Sample files • Open Internet Explorer • Go towww.ccsf.edu/vfascio • Scroll down and click Preparing Images for the Web or for PowerPoint • Right-click the name of a picture and choose Save target as… • Save to Desktop • Open PhotoShop and open pic
