  2. I would give this book a letter grade of A because it introduces the problem well and it has a skillful flip between past and present. I would recommend this book to people who love to play baseball because the story is about a boy who grows up playing it his whole life even when he feels like giving up. If I could ask the author one question, I’d ask him: How does Jimmy relate to you? Rating

  4. Assignment day is the day that would determine what would to jimmy’s life. Rockport field is the field that jimmy wont step on until it’s his turn play on. SDU is the collage that jimmy wants to play on and that his family went to. Topeka is the city where Rockport field is at and jimmy helps win the big playoffs. Ball player is what his best friend said to motivate him.   5. Conflict • The issue in the book is striving with his baseball career and that robbers are holding him up. • The two sides are Jimmy and the two robbers who are taking everything from him. • The conflict is Man against self because he almost tells himself to give up.

  6. Setting • The time is past and present. • The place is California. • I know this information because SDU stands for san Diego which is in California. I know the time because he would say “I remember” whenever he would go to the past.

  7. Characters • The main Character is Jimmy Hanks • Jimmy Hanks is a boy who loves baseball . He lives in California. The collage he wants to go to is SDU. Later in life he makes it to the majors on a team called the Lonestars.

  8. Mood • The mood of the novel is serious. • The novel is serious because Jimmy learns not to give up because he didn’t accomplish something very important to him but he found a way to get there like a “plan B”.

  9. Theme • The message from the author to the reader is don’t give up on your dreams because they can come true.

  10. Theme • In the Road to the Majors, by Scott Blumenthaw, Jimmy Hanks falls in love with baseball, and wants to play in the majors. Jimmy starts his adventure by just playing High School Ball as the new guy. Hopefully, Jimmy would make the minors to help him with his dream is playing in the majors. Jimmy learns that things can take time. He recognizes that baseball with his whole life! He desires the sport so much that he would not give it up for the world.

  11. Plot Teaser/Testimonial • The road to the Majors is a real page turner because you don’t know if Jimmy is going to make his dream, or if he will get shot.

  12. Ending Paragraph • Jimmy knows that he can do anything if he works hard. That shows when he finally makes the majors. Even though the failed at times he picked himself back up. Making it from high school ball to the majors he sees that dreams come true. In the end Jimmy plays on a team called the Lonestars.
